Spring Room
By using silkscreen printing, words are depicted into a two-dimensional artwork. “Light and Shadow”, “Reminiscence” and “Crowd”, three different titles that have a metaphysical (ambiguous, vague or invisible) meaning were chosen and by using letters as a tool they are transformed into something visible and not ambiguous. A visualized image of the title is shown on a front side, while the title itself is written on the back. This work consists of two layers; front and back. Hanging the works on chains, which symbolize unification, embodies a common role between the chains and the words; their purpose is to connect more than just two things together.

Summer Room
“A” is portrayed to express the concept of a form shaped by a letter. “A” is the letter that symbolizes the beginning, looks generous and full of elegance, as well as having a mother-like being to support all consonants. The vocalized sound “A（あ）” in Japanese is also the first letter in the Japanese syllabary. “A” stands for the origin and the ultimate. The shape of “A” originated from a head of a bull. When turning “A” up side down, you can see two lines sticking up that represent horns of a bull. Eventually, humans gave “A” a concept of stability then developed it into the current form of the letter. In this exhibition, the evolution of the letter shapes is speculated by using the letter “A”. It tries to show how it evolved through the influence of impressions that the original letter shape had. Pieces of stones are used to re-shape the beauty of the letters’ form, evoking the image of a time when humans engraved letters into stone.
